Ancient tools and pieces of wood

Along the promenade in the park of the Château d’Acquigny, one can admire the height, the bearing, the framework and the flowers of a great variety of trees but without understanding the specific trees you may encounter. Therefore, in the former wine press shed, thirty pieces of wood from our diverse woods come together, allowing one to discover their color and make-up. In this room, a magnificent oak framework from the 17th century makes up the walls, bringing together all different types of Norman construction, including cinder blocks, bricks, half-timbering (colombage), and large stone.

Opening hours

From the first Sunday of April to the last Sunday of October :

Weekends and Holidays 2 pm - 6 pm

July 14 to August 31 :

daily from 1 pm to 7 pm

Guided Tour around the Château at 3 pm and 4:30 pm

Plan at least one hour and 45 minutes to enjoy the beauty of the gardens. Two hours and a half is ideal.

You can visit the park and gardens, the “Salon du Midi”, the Orangery and and the cider-press house.
